Part of this is understanding where technology is useful and where it isn’t. Technology is evolving to support new ways of working. Microsoft Teams has recently updated its video conferencing to include speaker attribution to help hybrid working, so that if there are five people in the meeting room and five people at home, you know exactly who is talking. However, consulting firm McKinsey says that companies have found from their COVID-19 experience that some activities that can be done remotely, work much better in person. These include training, onboarding new employees, relationship building, planning and innovating.
