The Challenge

Expleo is a quality assurance and IT consultancy which helps its clients to embrace digital transformation. Having moved its staff of over 400 to work from their homes around the country, Expleo needed a mobile communications network it could rely on for staff to remain connected to each other and to their clients.


Solution

Expleo is a long-term mobile customer of eir Business and the success of its move to remote working depended on the stability of the eir mobile network. All staff members have mobiles and SIMs from eir which are kept secure and compliant using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. Expleo also turned to eir’s Bulk Text service to maintain a connection with remote staff through regular text message updates.

The Result

The company has operated remotely since March 2020. “It has been business as usual for our employees and clients. Our team uses the eir mobile network for calls and messages but also to power laptop connectivity and run critical business apps. As we began working from home we became more reliant on the mobile network. We found that in some homes the Wi-Fi can be inconsistent and we’ve been able to use eir mobile data with strong network coverage to maintain business continuity,” explains Paul Gallagher, Operations Manager, Expleo.

“It’s important for us to continue high engagement with our workforce, especially as we all work from different locations. Bulk Text has been a simple and efficient way for us to keep the lines of communication open.”

With the business now heavily reliant on mobile devices, Expleo needs to know that all devices and data are secure. With MDM from eir, all security and access policies are automatically loaded on every device and kept up-to-date.

“MDM has given us that extra layer of security. We have rolled it out as a group initiative in conjunction with a regular device refresh programme which means our workforce always benefits from best-in-class devices,” explains Paul.
