After months of uncertainty, Irish businesses seem to have settled on one thing. Report after report makes it clear: most people who can work from home want to continue to do so, though not all the time. Our survey of 200 ICT decision makers around the country - in collaboration with Behaviour and Attitudes - found that the cohort leading our digital future are in firm agreement that the future is hybrid.
Hybrid work requires new operations, strategies and infrastructures that encompass flexible work policies and innovative technology solutions. Before the pandemic, many in the ICT profession were not positioned to drive strategic change within their organisation. Often, ICT was viewed more as a necessary cost, than a vital business enabler and differentiator. Now those leading ICT functions are being asked to “add value” to the business as a whole. COVID-19 has put ICT teams at the heart of business.
From new technologies helping businesses to achieve their aims, to the ways in which hybrid work is fighting the battle against the climate crisis and developing new roles within ICT teams, this report delves into key watch outs and opportunities for Irish businesses looking to future proof their companies.
